The Types of Fires & Extinguishers
There are three common classes of fires:
• Type A: Fire is ignited by usual combustible materials (e.g. wood, garbage, paper, cloth, rubber, plastics)
• Type B: Fire is ignited by flammable liquids or something with an oil base (e.g. solvents, paint, gasoline, oil)
• Type C: Fire is ignited by electricity (e.g. malfunctioning electrical appliances, motors, electronic controls and wires)
Jersey Fire Protection also offers routine inspections of fire extinguishers per NFPA & NAFED standards.
Keeping your on-site fire extinguishers up-to-date ensures you are compliant with applicable codes and requirements. It is imperative that your equipment is safe and ready for operation.
